KELLY GRACE VIGIL

New Mexican soprano Kelly Grace Vigil brings a pure vocal tone, full of colorful nuance and depth, to a wide range of Classical, Baroque, and Romantic repertoire. Known for the “sincerity” she brings to roles (The Boston Musical Influencer) and for scene-stealing performances (Hub Review), she currently studies under Olga Perez-Flora and James Flora in Albuquerque. Recently, she has been exploring her cultural heritage through studies in New Mexican and Spanish folk song, engaging in interdisciplinary collaborations in poetry and photography, and performing locally with pianist and composer Steve Herrera. 

Through Boston University Opera, Ms. Vigil performed the role of Juliette in scenes from Gounod's Roméo et Juliette and the role of Rose Segal in John Musto's Later the Same Evening. She was lauded for her performance of Zerlina in Don Giovanni and covered the roles of Rosalba in Florencia en el Amazonas (Catàn) and Zina in Dark Sisters (Muhly). She also performed the partial role of Susanna in Le Nozze di Figaro scenes, working with David Kneuss of The Metropolitan Opera.

While at the American Institute of Musical Studies in Graz, Austria, Ms. Vigil worked with the AIMS Orchestra and Paris Opera conductor, Marius Steighorst. Her international experience also includes a year’s residency and numerous performances in Florence, Italy through the Florence University of the Arts, where she pursued musical and linguistic studies. She has performed as a soprano soloist with the Roswell Symphony and Boston Masterworks Chorale. 

At Eastern New Mexico University, Ms. Vigil performed the roles of Suor Angelica from Suor Angelica, Lauretta from Gianni Schicchi, and Adele from Die Fledermaus in full productions, as well as Rosina from Il Barbiere di Siviglia and Donna Anna from Don Giovanni in scenes.
